About the Business

Club Lucky was not always Club Lucky. It was once the home of a speakeasy during Prohibition (hidden beneath the existing dining room), a hardware store (now the exclusive Club Room), and a dance hall (the dining room itself). Club Lucky's neon sign is original, dating back to 1937, when it boasted the name of a local bar. When the property was purchased in 1990, the existing bar was transformed into Club Lucky's Cocktail Lounge and was joined to the dance hall next door forming the restaurant as it is today. You can still observe a deep bullet hole in the top of the original bar as a reminder of the turbulent late sixties and seventies in Bucktown. Club Lucky still serves as the neighborhood polling place on election days.

In operation for more than 26 years, Club Lucky is described as a 1940's supper club and cocktail lounge on the verge of the 1950s.It offers a historic, genuinely unique atmosphere that continues the building's tradition of bringing the community together.
