Business Owner

Melissa and Joseph B. (Business Owner)

Owners Melissa and Joseph moved their family to Portage Park in 2007, and as they watched the economic crisis affect the neighborhood with foreclosures, empty storefronts and job loss, they decided that they could do something about it. They opened Thrift & Thrive in 2011 and the year after helped form the Irving Austin Business District, whose goal is to revitalize the business strip, to support already existing local businesses on their strip and to organize events for the local neighborhood.
