Business Owner

Forrest D. (Business Owner)

I started building The Young American Salon in October of 2013 with my dad. We recycled and repurposed everything; the wood, screws, electrical, light fixtures, cabinets, doors, chairs & dressers. Every piece has a story. I grew up watching my mom cut hair out of our house in Tustin, CA. Eventually, I started cutting my own hair, and at the time, I had no idea that my hair adventure would be the basis of my clientele. I also didn't realize how this would impact me. After high school, I spent the next 5 years recording and touring with my band and then decided to get my cosmetology license. I worked under Jeff Brown who currently owns Kenneth Brown Salons, and after a few more tours with some of my friend's bands, I was drawn back to hair and turned my parent's pool house into what I called The Young American. Because of my amazing clientele, we eventually expanded to our Old Town Tustin location and opened our doors in February 2014. Recently we opened our 2nd location @ Southern Local
