About the Business

Restaurant owner Jeff Oliveri comes from a family of longtime restaurant owners. His mom, dad, and brothers are the main influence behind the family recipes and cuisine experienced at Tavola Nostra.

After spending over 25 years working within corporate operational and executive management, Jeff saw his opportunity to change his career and follow the family tradition. After some initial business planning, he trained in Rome, Italy to become a certified "Originale Pinsa Romana" chef, bring the Pinsa Romana to San Diego for the first time.

In December 2019, a restaurant location was purchased, but soon followed by a global pandemic. Renovation and decoration took place until August, when the restaurant had its' official opening.

Since the beginning, the restaurant team has been filled with gratitude and love with the ongoing support of Hillcrest regulars and all who spread the word. In spring 2022, we continue to share 'our table' and family recipes with all who come to visit.
