About the Business

Salon V was founded by wife and husband Vernelle and Alan Murphy in 2004. They wanted a friendly "no attitude" retreat for New Yorkers and newcomers alike to enjoy.

Originally located in the East Village, Salon V relocated its establishment to the bustling Greenwich Village in 2014. At that time senior stylist Meg DiGiovanni who had been working at Salon V for eight years joined the dynamic duo as a partner.

Established in 2004.

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Vernelle has been doing hair in some of the most prestigious salons in Honolulu, Los Angeles and New York City. Her work experience includes hair for music videos, indie movies, photo shoots and New York Fashion Week, but her passion remains in the salon where she can work personally with her clients and continue to grow long-lasting relationships. She is meticulous, has a strong eye for detail and loves to make her clients happy.
