About the Business

ARROJO studio opened in 2001. As an independent New York City hair salon, two things were vital to our success: We had to give people intelligent, trend-conscious, and functional hairstyles; hair to define personality, give swagger and style and confidence. And we had to make each client feel fabulous, unique, and valued. To do this, each stylist that joins our team must meet Nick's meticulously high standards, while the warm and welcoming culture of the studio is to make each client feel calm, comfortable, and happy.
These principles have led to unprecedented growth. Through our commitment to excellence, the studio has grown into a dynamic, custom-built 5000 square foot facility with 55 studio employees serving 650 clients each week.
In 2008, owner Nick Arrojo was honored with the prestigious 2008 Salon Entrepreneur of the year award at the Global Salon Business Awards and in Salon Today magazine as one of the Top 200 Salons For Growth in '06, '07 and '08.

Established in 2001.

Business Owner

Nick A. (Business Owner)

An acclaimed stylist, educator, and leading light in the business, Nick Arrojo's ground-breaking approach to hairstyling--in particular his signature razor-cutting technique--is recognized worldwide. In 2002 Nick became the hairdressing host for What Not to Wear, the reality TV show. With 8 million viewers tuned in to TLC's number one program every week, he became an American household name. Nick's forward momentum also drives a jaw-dropping 9000 sq ft expansion to the existing 4000 sq ft studio. Completed in Spring 2008, it includes more salon space, the academy (a dedicated center of excellence for advanced hairdresser education), a cosmetology school, and a product concept store. His work has graced the fashion magazines of the world on countless occasions, he's a regular stylist at New York fashion shows, and a regular guest for hair-related news stories on the ABC and NBC TV networks.
