About the Business

Our original location was first established in Alphabet City (East Village) in 1994. With the dedication of our in-house training program Parlor began bursting at the seams with new talented stylists. In 2012 we opened our present location in Brooklyn near the Barclay Center and an impressive number of trainstops. We love that the Boerum Hill section of Brooklyn is such a nexus of cultures from the many surrounding neighborhoods such as Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Park Slope, Crown Heights, and Prospect Heights. We pride ourselves in attracting stylists who excel in crafting hair services for all the beautiful textures, types, and density represented by our wonderful neighborhood!

A third generation hair professional, Gwenn has had extensive core and advanced training at Aveda's Horst Education Center in Minneapolis. Combined with her practical salon experience and knowledge of Aveda products, methods and philosophy, Gwenn is one of the most sought-after hair professionals in Brooklyn. While apprenticing under Horst Rechelbacher (founder of Aveda), Gwenn traveled throughout the United States and Canada, aiding demonstrations and performing technical work for hair shows and photo sessions.
