About the Business

In 1980, Richard Ferkich, Sr. decided to open some mini-warehouses for people to rent for storage space. Before long, he noticed people were operating small businesses from the spaces. Shortly thereafter, Richard built a 25,000 SF mini-mall and called it the Oldsmar Flea Market. We now are 20 acres of shopping!

There are only a few original flea markets left along Florida's central west coast, and the Oldsmar Flea Market is one of the biggest and the best. For more than 37 years, the market has continued to grow, even while others have shrunk and disappeared.

The Oldsmar Flea Market has grown and evolved over the years, but it is a combination of carnival, shopping bazaar and three ring circus. Bold, loud, colorful and exciting, you never know what you're going to find around the next corner and often it is something you haven't seen in years and thought you'd never see again. Most weekends you can still catch some live music on the north stage and eat a corn dog!
