The original owner of Lindo Michoacan Mexican Restaurant, learned to cook when his grandparents, Timoteo and Ninfa, sent him to study at the seminary in Michoacan. At the seminary, a wooden revolving service door (the torno) separated the nuns in the kitchen from the priests and students in the dining hall. Through a crack in this door, Javier developed a friendship with the Mother Superior.
