About the Business

Ever since I began taking ballet seriously in middle school, my dream was to have my very own studio--a big, open space with natural light and my own energy to provide the backdrop.

When my daughter was born, we had the perfect opportunity. Suddenly we needed more space! We moved into a larger home with a perfect space for a studio so I could begin working from home.

Karen is a certified Pilates instructor, group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Karen offers small group classes in an intimate studio setting. Located right between downtown Atlanta and Decatur, in the Kirkwood neighborhood, you can come take an action-packed hour-long class all about burning calories (cardio drills), building strength (circuit training with weights), and making you strong from the core on out (Pilates). Karen also offers one-on-one and two-on-one personal training sessions.

I admit it: I'm a gym rat. When I was 16, my after-school hobby was working out, not going to the mall. So I guess it wasn't a surprise that I should end up wanting to share my love of exercise with others. I started teaching fitness classes when my kickboxing instructor kept doing a particular move that put pressure on the knees in a dangerous way. I knew how to tweak my form to make it right, but did anyone else? I decided right then to get certified and teach my own class. Soon after that came Pilates and weight training, and then, what the heck, I became a personal trainer, too.
