insideOUT, owned by Matthew Ramon, elevated the Hillcrest community dining scene upon opening in April 2018. Situated in the eye-catching Eitol Towers, insideOUT is a casual elegant restaurant where the main dining room opens to an outdoor atrium that features a switchback walkway with seating nooks, a striking water feature, and seating for guests to experience San Diego's ONLY urban oasis.

The menu, curated by Executive Chef Johnny Duran, is updated seasonally to reflect his creative approach to global but local fare, using the freshest ingredients provided by our local purveyors. insideOUT provides individualized guest-focused service, respectful hospitality and is San Diego's premier LGBTQ+-owned and operated restaurant.

We provide customized private event planning and venue buyouts. Current Experience: insideOUT is pleased to bring back our Spring Oasis Experience, March 19th - May 12th. Please note: Any outdoor reservations for the Spring Oasis Experience are subject to change due to weather. Be sure to verify your source of confirmation for up-to-date information. Due to the high demand of RSVP’s during the experience, no alternate date or reschedule will be available. Walk-ins at a future date are encouraged.

Matthew (Matty) Ramon has been involved with the San Diego community for 30 years. Originally from Michigan, Ramon moved to California in 1991 and helped with the opening of Hamburger Mary's (now Urban MOs). Mentored by Chris Shaw, Ramon worked diligently and advanced to become a co-owner of Urban MOs and several other Hillcrest restaurants. In 2022, Ramon became owner and CEO of Urban MOs.
