About the Business

We are a full service beauty salon established in 1986, downtown Halifax. In 1996 we expanded to our second location in Kearney Lake, then to our third location in Bedford NS, 2000. In 2002 we made the decision to focus our energy on Bedford, closing Halifax, & Kearney Lake. In 2008 we expanded our salon to 3,300 feet. The decision was also made to change our name from Ian Marc's Hairstyling to Imagine Salon & Spa. Our focus is on our staff and the expanding brand our customers have come to expect. We have beed an established Salon & Spa since 1986! We hold an NSLC liquor license. We have a complete line of retail products, in hair, skin care, make up and styling tools. (Specializing in Goodwell, Jane Iredale, and Dermalogica) We support our community by donating to charities and local fundraisers. We also donate and support breast cancer and men's health awareness efforts.

Ian Marc has been a hairstylist for more than 40 years.  Beginning his career in Toronto, and developing his skills, he soon realized Nova Scotia was a special place to settle down & raise his family.  The opportunity to open the Ian Marc's brand came in 1986, with a rebranding of the name to Imagine Salon & Spa in 2008 .  Our company employees 14 staff that are passionate about education, service & creating wonderful memories with our guests.  Ian's career has taken him in just about every direction the beauty industry can offer.  From being president of the Nova Scotia Cosmetology Association, to doing educational work for a major manufacturer, working in film, to writing, Ian believes in giving back.  Come for a visit, stay for an hour or enjoy the day at our salon & spa.  What ever the reason, our  aim is to make you apart of our family!
