Matt Ewer's investment in the local food economy started at the tender age of eight, when he went door-to-door in his hometown of Marion, Indiana, hawking sweet corn from his family farm out of a beat up red wagon. Early on, Ewer recognized the importance of connecting rural and urban communities. He honed his skills in college, garnering an Environmental Management degree from Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs department. After graduating in 2000, Ewer worked at Stranger's Hill Organics in Bloomington, Ind., for two seasons. He then pursued his exploration of organics further by moving to Washington State with his new wife, Elizabeth Blessing. While in Seattle for four years, he was the General Manager of Full Circle Farm which has been named "one of the most successful small farms in the country" by US News & World Report.
