Frugal Fannie's, was opened by partners Orrin & Kathleen Doxer, in Westwood/Norwood (on Rte 1) in 1983. Many clients remember the company had grown to many other locations in the greater Boston and D.C. areas, however, the company consolidated in 2003, while keeping the original flagship warehouse store open. Now, after 30 years, their vision has not changed: offer an exciting shopping experience unlike no other. Fashion-savvy women who love a bargain come from all over New England and Canada for current & some past season famous name & designer apparel at fabulous discounts, plus exclusive buy-outs, close-outs & sample sales. The ever-changing inventory consists of coats, dresses, shoes, accessories, sportswear, swimwear, collections & costume jewelry. Kathleen "Fannie" Doxer is the creative force behind Frugal Fannie's. As co-founder, Kathleen is the spokesperson for the company. She creates and appears in all of Frugal Fannie's TV ads & is responsible for marketing and advertising. Kathleen is also involved in fashion direction and buying. She got her start in apparel retail through her training in advertising design at The Art Institute of Boston. Over the years, Frugal Fannie's has become known as a champion of women through through many charitable endeavors involving Rosie's Place, the first shelter for women in the United States. As a 15-year breast cancer survivor, Kathleen and her company lend support to breast health initiatives. Kathleen grew up in Wayland MA and has 2 daughters who work at the company. As Fannie, Kathleen always says, "Mothers bring your Daughters, Daughters bring your Mothers!"
