The owner of Congers Collision, James DeStaso, has a passion for cars, and was born into the automotive industry. James is a third generation shop owner, with both his father and grandfather owning local auto repair businesses. From a very young age, he was always around the shop, and could even be found at the full service pumps at the age of 6! He continued working in his fathers shop until the age of 21! He then became a New York City police officer. While working in the nypd, he was transferred to the Auto Crime Unit of OCCB. He later decided that although he was still working with cars everyday, it did not meet his passion for vehicles which led him to open his own shop Congers Collision! James has spent a lot of time on education and training, not just for our staff, but himself as well. He is an icar platinum individual in most areas of automotive, holds a wreckmaster level 6/7 certification, attended boces for ase certification, as well as a licensed insurance adjuster!
