About the Business

The business was actually started in 1975, but I've owned it since 1989.

Established in 1975.

Business Name

Chicago Hamburger

Specialties

Welcome to the Chicago Hamburger Company, Inc., Home of the Original Windy City Slider®. We're a Chicago style sandwich joint serving burgers, Vienna hot dogs and polish, char broiled sandwiches, wings, salads, and more since 1975. We also offer old fashioned milkshakes (you know, the kind you have to make), and soft drinks. We're a very family friendly environment, with kid menus, a pretty darned friendly crane, and Pac-Man for those who are never satisfied with their highest score. We keep a couple of TVs tuned to sports, with Phoenix and Chicago teams getting the most airtime. We're also a great place for lunch during your work day. Call ahead and we'll have your carryout order ready when you arrive. We offer many broiled chicken and turkey options. We also offer a great Veggie burger, three cheese sub, and salad for the non-meat society.

Business Owner

Bob P. (Business Owner)

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. My dad bought a hot dog joint on the south side in 1974 called Peter B's, on Cermak and Paulina . Myself and my sisters worked there thru high school and college. I came to Arizona in 1982, looking for social service work with a psychology degree. Those jobs were thin, but an experienced cook can find work. I started in dinner houses, cooking continental, French, and regional Italian.
