About the Business

Chan originally opened in 2012 when Chef/Owner Heong Soon Park expanded upon his success with sister restaurant Bacco Cafe. After garnering a terrific reputation amongst Seattle residents and visitors to our fine city, Chef Park moved Chan Seattle from its small space in Pike Place Market to a larger, more open space in the Paramount Hotel within the downtown core of Seattle.

Chan offers traditional Korean dishes using Western ingredients and modern cooking techniques. Korean-born Chef Heong Soon Park and his team bring diners an outstanding array of powerful flavors which blend spicy, salty, sour, sweet and umami on the plate. A native of South Korea, Chef Park grew up a world traveler living in places such as Malaysia and Switzerland prior to moving to the United States. Chef Park was first exposed to the restaurant business while working at his parent’s Japanese restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. After graduating from business school, he moved to Seattle and quickly discovered the original Chan Seattle location.
