About the Business

Àcôté and Safar were founded by Gaston Safar who started cutting hair at a young age at his parents' salon in France. Before turning 20, he moved to Boston with his family and one year later he opened Safar Coiffure with his brothers Serge and Jean-Pierre. Over three decades later, the name Safar is synonymous with beauty and style. In 1998 Gaston opened Salon acote, offering the best in hair services. Today the Safars own Safar Coiffure and Salon acote in Boston, as well as Safar Salon in the heart of Miami Beach.

All of our stylists have received extensive training in the US and Europe. Many of our stylists have been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, The Improper Bostonian, and more. Also, our stylists have styled for many fashion shows including the renowned Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Hermes, and more.
