About the Business

For co-founder Trang Warden, Zen Day Spa isn't just about giving the best hand treatments or the best facials; the business of beauty has been a family affair for over 15 years. Trang's father gave the family an entrepreneurial spirit from the beginning; Trang's mother owned a San Francisco salon, and Trang herself got into the business as a part-time manicurist at age 17. She continued through college, working on her Business degree while gaining valuable hands-on experience in customer service, management, and different beauty techniques.

Even after Trang graduated and took a job for a Fortune 500 company, she still performed beauty treatments whichmeant 7 day work weeks, but it fulfilled both of her passions, finance and beauty. Trang took it one step further by partnering with good friend Sandy Ma to launch Dolci Beauty Lounge in summer 2004. Located in the Lower Haight, Dolci grew into a successful business, and two years later, Trang and her husband Chris assumed full ownership.
