Wawa, founded in 1803, is headquartered in Wawa, Pennsylvania. In 1890, George Wood, an entrepreneur from New Jersey, moved to Delaware County, Pennsylvania; it was here that he began the Wawa Dairy Farm. Wawa opened its first store in 1964 and currently operates a chain of over 1,000 stores in a six-state area, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Washington.
