About the Business

Our story starts with Colombian/ Mexican sisters who were trained in authentic Mexican cooking by Mexican chefs before coming to the UK, with one or two of the sisters having over 15 years experience. The sisters are passionate about Mexican cooking and wanted to start own restaurant. They were supported in this by their friend Peter (aka Pedro) who is English but also a Mexicophile who speaks Spanish. We opened the restaurant, initially, some guests commented that we weren't a Mexican restaurant at all, as we didn't offer Fajitas or Burritos, or use sour cream! We realized that we needed to educate the great British public that traditional authentic Mexican food is vastly different from over 95% of British Mexican restaurants, which serve Tex-Mex food with origins in the USA (Texas). In fact, we may be the only truly Mex-Mex restaurant outside of London. If you come, be prepared for something different! (By the way, sour cream is from Israel and is virtually unknown in Mexico).
