About the Business

In the 1970's, Mike Vinson started working at a Chevron station where Nordstrom's at Fashion Square sits now. He branched out on his own & started Mike Vinson Automotive, Inc. in 1990. Many customers from Chevron followed him & provided a base for growing a successful business in Scottsdale. In 1994, his son, John, joined the business as a technician. The business grew to the point that more room was needed. In 1996, Mike built a 5-bay repair facility with ample parking & a comfortable lobby for customers. Over the next 20 years, John & his wife, Amy, gradually increased their role in the day-to-day management of the shop. In May 2016, Mike started to phase out of the business and into retirement. As of January 2019, Amy & John own the business and operate as Vinson/Haas Automotive, Inc. John & Amy continue to operate the business with same guiding principles that customers appreciated when doing business with Mike - honest customer service, quality work and fair pricing.

John started working in the business in 1994.  He learned the business operations inside and out while performing mechanical duties.   He and Amy became full owners in 2019 when Mike took his well deserved retirement.  In his ongoing role as the service manager, his customer service skills and long term relationships with many clients are invaluable.  He still enjoys turning wrenches and can be found in the shop as much as in the office.
