About the Business

The vision for Vaporetto was inspired by our many trips to this beautiful part of the world, and wanting to create something that embodies old school hospitality filled with warmth, generosity and charm. We were particularly drawn to Venice for the art, culture, romance, mystery and the rich, fascinating history associated with controlling the spice trail for centuries. Our chefs get to play with the likes of cinnamon, cardamon, saffron, turmeric, nutmeg, the list goes on. Venetian food is like Italian food without rules! And let's face it, who doesn't love Venice?

Vaporetto is the name of the ferry that transports passengers within Venice and to its nearby islands such as Murano, Burano and Lido (the same name as the cinema complex coincidentally). Vaporetto translates as little steamer after the original vessels.

Once upon a time, there were three hospitality professionals who lived in restaurants around the world. They were very fortunate to find one another and worked tirelessly together for many years. One day they realised that they shared a dream; to create a place like no other, a place that encapsulated all that they had grown to love. It was a place that combined beautiful food with exceptional old school hospitality in a fun, family oriented environment where their customers were the centre of attention. They were Greg Feck, Kim Coronica and David Wickwar.
