About the Business

Turfway Park opened in 1959 as Latonia Race Course, the name a nod to the original Latonia that was located about 10 miles north and ran live racing from 1883 through 1939. The track was renamed Turfway Park in 1986. Purchased in 2019 by Churchill Downs, Inc, Turfway Park Racing & Gaming underwent an extensive $240 million dollar renovation and reopened to the public September 1, 2022.
