About the Business

The Tavernacle Social Club opened its doors for business officially on February 1, 2002. Just one week later, Salt Lake City welcomed the world during the Winter Olympic Games.

During that special time, the club saw people from all over the world. One particular night, a group of Russian visitors joined us and at one point took the stage for an incredible performance of the Russian Cossack Dance. A woman played the piano while several men joined arms in the dance. Since then we've hosted a variety of parties and even political rallies. We are not, however, a political club. Everyone is invited so please check your politics at the door.

The Tavernacle is a non-smoking club, however, smoking is allowed outside, and we have heaters on the side of the club for the colder months.

The Tavernacle Social Club will always offer a great atmosphere and wild entertainment for visitors every time you walk through our doors!

Established in 2002.

Specialties

The Tavernacle Social Club has been Salt Lake City's most wild dueling piano show for over 11 years! A dueling piano show is like a great big sing-along. Two piano players sit facing each other at baby grand pianos. The 'dueling' part of a dueling piano show comes from YOU, the audience. You determine what you want to hear by filling out request slips provided at each table. Bring your request slip up to either of the pianists, accompanied by a tip. The size of the tip determines how badly you want to hear the song. NOTE: The amount of money on the song determines its priority in the lineup of requests. If someone else in the audience doesn't want to hear your favorite song, they can stop it for a dollar more than it was requested for... but you can start the song again for one dollar more. Let the duel begin. We encourage singing, clapping, and even a little dancing on the piano if it's your special day. Come join us for a rockin' good time with our dueling piano shows
