About the Business

Built in 1893 The Spread Eagle was originally the Croydon
branch of the Union Bank of London. It continued to
operate as a bank for the next century until Fuller, Smith &
Turner bought the building from the National Westminster
Bank in March 1996. It opened a few months later as The
Spread Eagle.
Not much has changed since the banking days here at The
Spread Eagle, one of Fuller's Ale & Pie Houses. You can,
of course, still deposit your money with us and in return
we can offer you homemade food, made with the freshest
quality ingredients, prepared by our highly skilled kitchen
team. Or you may decide to try some of our award-winning
Fuller's cask and bottle-conditioned ales.
We've always got at least five cask-conditioned ales on
tap and we're lucky to be able to brew them just 13 miles
from here, at Fuller's in Chiswick, London's last remaining
traditional family brewery. There's a full description of all
our ales on the back of this menu.

Established in 2001.
