The sentimental, subdued style of the supper club mirrors its namesake's personality and demeanor. One of Oklahoma City's most celebrated chefs, Russ Johnson was named "Best Chef" by his peers for Best Chefs America and was nominated for "The People's Best New Chef," an annual list of America's up-and-coming chefs. He's also a true Okie, though: the quiet guy with a friendly smile that you see hand-selecting produce at the farmers' market on Saturday morning, or driving for hours on red dirt roads visiting farms and ranches.

Our beverages are reminiscent of a simpler place and time, with a focus on classic highballs like the 7 and 7 and Singapore Sling, and beers your grandparents might offer at a family reunion. Chefs Russ Johnson and Jonathon Stranger spent more than a year sifting through treasured family recipe boxes and scouring the historical menu collection at the New York Public Library, seeking inspiration in vintage menus from the 1950s and 1960s, to create an original menu and time-honored atmosphere. The brightest ideas from the mid-20th century are incorporated into every aspect of the classic, sentimental flavors of The R&J experience.
