About the Business

A pub for almost 200 years, records date back to 1821. Settled in the picturesque Georgian architecture of Clifton Village, The Portcullis has had a lively history, and has been owned by some of the most iconic names in brewing of old. Not everything was rosy for the pub, and was under threat of closure for quite a while, but taken over by Dawkins Ales in February 2008, with the grand idea of bringing the pub back to it's halcyon days of old.

Established in 1821.
