About the Business

The birth of The Morrissey was serindipitous in every way. Taking over a space that had been vacant for just over a year, The Morrissey House took on a life of its own and quickly became a favourite in the neighbourhood. From taking out the staircase to nowhere, to adding a patio, the building was easily transformed into a welcoming, comfortable local.

Having 20 years in the business in London, we were looking for an opportunity to create a modern pub. This location made all of the decisions easy for us! Located within a block and a half of 5 hotels and a thriving (and growing) dowtown neighbourhood, making it the 'local' part was simple. Staffing the pub also came easily as we found a few cornerstones right away, including Amey in the front of house and Chef Andrew creating the menus...once the people started coming in, we knew it was right and within weeks, we felt like we were a major part of the neighbourhood and community.

The menu is house made, fresh and not your typical pub food. Catering to all tastes including some great vegetarian options. Most importantly, the staff and service are caring and you will always find great people hanging out!
