We opened in 2012 and we are a social enterprise / charity offering training and employment opportunities to young people, particularly those that have experienced difficult circumstances in life. We are part of the YMCA family.

The Kitchen specialises in tasty breakfasts (with a lighter breakfast menu Monday to Thursday and a full breakfast menu on Friday and Saturday), delicious and great value lunches and homemade cakes and lovely coffee. All in a friendly, relaxed and spacious setting. Come and try our Kitchen Burger, our range of filled Pittas (Falafel, Haloumi, Grilled Chicken), homemade tarts and salads and homemade soup. All our food is made fresh, cooked to order, sourced as locally as possible and where we can is organic.

My name is Ben and I started the cafe in 2012.  Although I spend a lot of time in and around the cafe my job is also to develop the work of the YMCA in Bristol.  I've spent my whole working life supporting young people to reach their potential and I'm really excited about the work we are doing with young people at The Kitchen. I'm also proud of having a great value cafe with amazing food (thanks to our Head Chef Matt and Kitchen Apprentice Sam), great coffee (thanks to our Front of House Team Amy and Lara and front of house apprentice Abii) and a warm friendly atmosphere right in the middle of Broadmead in Bristol City Centre.
