About the Business

Establishing The Drawing Room has been the lifelong dream of founder and salon director, Oskar Pera.

The rooms that make up The Drawing Room are steeped in London's rich history. Built around 1750, 41 Artillery Lane is situated on the path to a former military training ground, strongly hinted by the present names of this and adjacent streets: Fort Street, Gun Street and Artillery Passage.

The house was converted into a shop during the mid-19th century, but retained much of its original exterior and interior features. Grade II listed for its architectural or historic interest, it is noted as "a remarkably complete survival of the interior of this type of house". Our renovations have sought to be sensitive to the history and character of the property. We hope you can forgive its uneven angles and wizened countenance, which we believe are the essence of its charm.

Within the storied walls of our Georgian era townhouse we've sought to establish a hair salon with the comforts, charm and congenial atmosphere of home. Our aim is to provide you and your stylist with the time and space to achieve the best results for you. This approach ensures that your hair style looks good, feels right, and is easier to manage, long after you've left the salon. You'll find us on the border of East London and The City, just moments from the famous Spitalfields Market and the convenient connections of Liverpool Street Station. Trained in classic techniques in the longest established hairstyling academy in Seville, Spain, Oskar began his career in Palma De Mallorca, serving Europe's high society. He moved to London in 2006, working in leading Shoreditch salons, before working independently for fashion labels, magazines, models and artists, and private clients.
