About the Business

We are a "Latin American" Spanish Grill & Cafe in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, in Historic Sailboat Bend. The restaurant is in a remodeled, 1924 Historic House with its original Restored 'Chimney'."
The idea of restoring this historic, derelect house into a restaurant started with a projected completion time of 2 years and finally took 6 (SIX) years to complete. Our goal was to createa Neighborhood restaurant on the West side of the Las Olas area (in Historic Sailboat Bend) with a strong focus on quality food in a casual yet beautiful environment. Our menu showcases the best dishes of South America and Spain like Ceviches, Arroz Marinerro (Paella), and lighter fare like Empanadas, Fish Tacos, and Steak Sandiwches. Come experience the charm of this old home and join us for Lunch or Dinner Tuesday thru Saturday, or for Sunday Brunch. Or just come by and have some coffee (Lavazza is served), or sip some wine, a House Sangria, or a Pint of our Draft Beer.

Established in 2012.

Business Owner

Yady R. (Business Owner)

My husband and I started with an idea to remodel a derelict 1924 Historic House in the Heart of Sailboat Bend in Downtown Fort Lauderdale for use as a neighborhood restaurant. We had a project completion time of 2 years - but permitting issues, an escalation budget and a bad economy turned our project into a Six year ordeal.  We finally opened in September of 2012 and our project's inside layout was greatly dictated by the chimney (fireplace) that was the focal point of the original home  -- hence the name 'The Chimney House'  - or as we like to call it "La Casa De La Chimenea'.  Our food is Latin American, mostly influenced by the flavors of Colombia, Peru and Argentina, with an emphasis on using quality ingredients made in a traditional way.
