The Blues Can Opened in September 2010 in Historic Inglewood. Long Time Blues Fan and King Eddy Patron, Greg Smith, jumped on the opportunity to open Calgary's Newest Blues Bar. He did so, even when often times the odds were against him.

Opening a Live Music Venue in a city with an under saturated music scene was not easy and on many occasions during the 1st year, the bar was on the edge of disappearing to be never heard of again. Through perseverance and pure devotion to the Music, the performers, the food, and the vision, The Blues Can pushed onwards, kept the bands playing and people dancing and eventually began to gain traction fast.

Through continued support from our amazing customers, The Blues Can is now Bursting at the seems on weekends and even during the week. Almost every weekend show is a sell out and the fun has just begun with some incredible upcoming shows.

The Blues Can specializes in Great Blues Music, Cajun Creole Food, Cold Beers and an great night out! We have Live Music EVERY NIGHT!! Every weekend has Out of Town Touring Blues Acts that will Blow you away. There is a Live Blues Jam Hosted by Calgary's Tim Williams from 3-7pm and Sunday Nights there is an Open Jam Hosted by Calgary's Mike Watson & The 6L6's from 7-11pm. Despite some peoples doubts in Live Jams, both of the weekend Jams are packed and stacked with Talent from near and far. If you are a musician or love live music, these Jams are worth investigating. Thursday night varies from Local Great Blues Bands and Touring Blues Acts. Wednesdays Feature Live Rockabilly Music with 25 Cent Wings and Cheap Beer. Mondays & Tuesdays focus on local Bands & Special events like Ska Night, Reggae Night, Latin night.. The Menu Features Louisianna Favorites like Cajun Frog Legs, Deep Fried Pickles, Alligator Jambalaya, Blackend Catfish, Po' Boy Sandwiches and more! See U Tonight!
