"You should open a restaurant", the enthusiastic cooking students would tell Noy. We'd mull it over for a week or two, just enough time to let the cons outweigh the pros:
too much time
too much work
no social life
weird hours
The list went on but little by little the pros were gaining ground:
people would love our food
we could keep it simple
fresh from our garden
nobody else does it like this
let's either do it or quit talking about it
We couldn't read our ad in the Chinese News but were assured itsaid "Restaurant Wanted"

Cash this in, cash that in. Close, but no restaurant.
"If you have faith in the cook, you'll put in the house." (Real Estate guy)
So we put in the house.

Taste of Thailand specializes in the flavors our fine cooks grew up with, expertly prepared Northern Thai cuisine. Using fresh often home grown ingredients, we prepare dishes for our customers the way we have always enjoyed them. We are a family owned and operated restaurant (since 1994). Our Seasonal Specials often track the Garden Season with fresh picked herbs and leafy greens. Our Winter "Flu Shot" Soup has been delighting diners for over 20 years. We offer a 5 item "Curry Lunch Combo" which changes daily and include Soup, Appetizer, Curry, Stir Fry and Rice. A very hearty meal. In addition to our Northern Thai dishes, we offer a full range of familiar Central and Southern Thai meals. In June 2015 we moved to 2120 So. Broadway. We've got a beautiful new space, kitchen and patio but have stuck to the roots we developed since 1994: great cooks, excelent service and the joy we get from bringing joy to others. We have expanded our weekend hours to include Sunday Lunch and Dinner featuring Northern style "Weekend Gathering" full meals such as Gai Yang, Khow Mun Gai and Khow Soy.
