Born and raised in LA Gisen "G" Sawamura decided to return to LA in 2022 after living in Tokyo as a restauranteur and concert promoter for the past 22 years. Upon learning of his leaving Tokyo his friends some of the biggest restauranteurs in Japan said " If your going to leave to LA, lets do the collaboration project we've been talking about for the past 6 years!" This was the birth of TABERU. Combined owning and operating over 200 locations throughout Japan they decided they wanted to bring comfort food never before seen in LA bringing high quality but without the LA price tag and make it reasonable so instead of having customers come once a month they could come once a week. TABERU's Chef Taka who also owns 3 very popular restaurants in Tokyo called ARBOL has also moved to LA wanting to introduce a higher quality of japanese origin food and introduce to the foodies of LA.
