About the Business

The husband and wife team of Kevin & Monique Douglas have been entrusted to help tell the story of this once thriving vibrant community. Know as "Brooklyn" it houses a rich history of once was know as the the "Black Wall Street of Charlotte" back in the early 1900's. We are committed to providing visitors to the city as well as the Charlotte community with a music and arts that revives the very ideals that this neighborhood was built on. Nestled in the heart of the city on the corner of 3rd and Brevard street, we are centrally located uptown between the Spectrum arena and the Charlotte Convention Center. We look forward to hosting you at our upscale lounge.

Studio 229 on Brevard is your premier music and venue rental lounge in the heart of uptown Charlotte, NC on the corner of 3rd and S. Brevard Street. We are just one block from Spectrum Arena and the Charlotte Convention Center. 10 of the largest hotels in uptown are located less than 2 blocks from our "boutique" venue. Our multi-functional event lounge houses our jazz and old school music evenings from Wednesday - Saturday. We have a full service spirits bar. Swing by to soak in the rich history of this once historic area once known as "Brooklyn", part of a once thriving community known as "Black Wall Street of Charlotte". In addition to our 3200 sq ft location, we also have an art gallery as well as a historic 121 year-old church called simply "the Grace" ( it functions today as a must see event center. Managed by the husband and wife team of Monique & Kevin Douglas, it also serves as the photography & videography and consultation studio of CBK Branding and Consulting Firm.
