Reed grew up in South Florida and Colorado before moving to Las Vegas in 1999. He opened the first SkinnyFATS in June 2013 after the small deli in his office parking lot went out of business and his supply of Iced Tea was cut off. Reed decided to take over the deli, assemble a great team and build a concept from the ground up. Reed wanted to open a healthy restaurant but was concerned that the industrial area the location resided in might not support it. He decided to appeal to both those seeking healthy options and those that did not. SkinnyFATS was born.
