About the Business

Wanting to contribute to Calgary's cultural conversation and in possession of a painting they thought would look great in a bookstore, JoAnn McCaig and Will Lawrence opened Shelf Life Books in October of 2010. The premise was to specialize in Canadian/local authors and carefully curated literature while also creating a space to host various book-oriented events. Over the years, Shelf Life Books has become a place for avid readers and the unusually bookish, for browsers and meanderers, for independent minds and spirits.
