Scout started as a dream in 2010 after Leah spent some time away from home and felt the need to come home to something new and exciting.

As a lover of handmade Leah was seeing a lot of makers that weren't being represented in shops in Toronto and saw an opportunity.

Working for a small business for 10 years prior unknowingly gave Leah some of the experience and familiarity of what would go into running her own small business.

Roncesvalles was in the midst of an overhaul after years of terrible construction and Leah wanted to be a part of the exciting revival! She always loved the small community feel it had and thought her shop would suit it perfectly.

We opened our doors Sept 17 2011 during Polish Festival and have been loving every minute of it since!

Scout is an independent gift shop with a focus on handmade, Canadian and independent artisans. We pride ourselves in curating thoughtful goods that we stand behind and feel will offer something special to your home, lifestyle or as the perfect gift. Scout opened its doors in September of 2011 in beautiful Roncesvalles Village in the west end of Toronto; a vibrant street with an abundance of wonderful shops, restaurants and Toronto's oldest standing movie theatre, the Revue Cinema. We feel so lucky to be a part of such a supportive community. We hope to see you soon!
