About the Business

Our beautiful warehouse-turned restaurant on Washington Avenue has a great happy hour daily from 3-6 pm and offers delivery to the Downtown Minneapolis and University of Minnesota area. Sawatdee also offers complete full service catering to the greater Twin Cities area including weddings, graduations, parties and more. We have a private party room that can seat up to 50 guests in a variety of arrangements.

Sawatdee has long intrigued Minnesotans with the complex flavor combinations found in our authentic Thai cooking. Over thirty years and six locations later, Sawatdee has become a Twin Cities favorite. Each location offers slightly different menus to reflect the preferences of people in each area, but all who dine at are celebrities and are treated with love, respect, and peace.

When we first opened our doors in St. Paul back in 1983, the Sawatdee mission was simple: to take our community on an adventure full of Thai flavors and good times. Years later, we brought that mission to East Town Minneapolis, and the adventure is still as exciting as ever. Not only have we expanded to share our flavors with more people, but we've added to what we offer as well. With an amazing bar, a fun-filled happy hour, and so much more, there's no better place to indulge in good taste than with us. When Cyndy's mother, Supenn, first opened Sawatdee, she was a young Thai entrepreneur who took her dream of working for herself and turned it into a chain of nationally known restaurants. For more than 30 years, the Harrison family has been creating authentic Thai cuisine which has set the standard for local Asian restaurants. Supenn's success can be attributed to her hard work, her demand for superior quality and service, her knowledge and understanding of her target market, her keen business sense, and her caring personality. Cyndy is proud to carry on that tradition as she keeps the customers at Sawatdee and Zushiya happy and coming back for more.
