About the Business

The owner chef, Hideki Yamamoto, was the owner of Dharma Sushi Restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia for twenty years. He and his family moved to North Vancouver in 2014 and opened Sansho Sushi Restaurant in Jan, 2015.

We specialize in authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi. We are located in a quiet residential area in North Vancouver with lots of street parking around. We have a variety of beers including draught, Japanese and imported, chilled and warm sake, and wines that pair well with Japanese food. As Japanese owners, we take pride in serving our food with good quality ingredients and creating our house dressing, teriyaki sauce, and other sauces from scratch. We also make our desserts all from scratch. Although we put emphasis on traditional taste, the chef is also open to new ideas and we also serve rolls and dishes popular in North America. Come and enjoy our casual, family-friendly restaurant with exceptional food!
