About the Business

Born out of the North West's first celebrity salon chain - Harvey & Rupert. Rupert Himself became Rupert Hayes Hairdressing when we moved from our old home in Shambles Square following the Manchester Bombing. We were the first salon to open on Deansgate and our salon still stands out as our style & our friendly approach is a little different!
We have always been very interested in fashion & image as Shambles Square was also home to Rupert Hayes Models, a fashion model agency where we scouted, trained, photographed & represented many notable models of the period, the most well known of whom now is Tess Daly. However, the agency closed when we moved to Deansgate, so now we just concentrate on making you look great!
After an unscheduled delay, where we were working in another salon for a few months, we are pleased to announce that our new St Anne's Arcade salon is now open.

Independent, established unisex salon in the heart of Manchester. We offer high-quality unisex hair cutting, colouring & even perming, in a friendly stylish salon. You will also find us to be obsessed with all things curly with a lot of experience with cutting curly hair. We are stockists of Olaplex, NAK, Moroccanoil, Tigi, Goldwell, L'Oreal Professional, and more. We use L'Oreal Colours in the salon. We also offer the latest one stage Nanokeratin Pure Smooth "Refine" Keratin Smoothing System for coloured hair and we are one of the 1st salons in Manchester to be able to offer you the much talked about miracle treatment Olaplex. We are open 5 days per week with late night opening on weekdays. Find our new salon in St Ann's Arcade, off St Ann's Square next to Seen Opticians.

Been at the cutting edge of hairdressing (excuse the pun) in Manchester & London for a long time. Rupert qualified in the iconic Vidal Sassoon Salon on Bond Street in the 60's, then came back to Manchester and started Harvey & Rupert, Manchester's 1st hairdressing brand. Their ethos was great quality high fashion hairdressing at affordable prices. It was a huge hit and soon they had 3 salons in the city centre, 1 in Stockport and 1 in Mayfair in London. Rupert Also trained as a professional photographer. After Harvey and Rupert, there was Rupert Himself in Shambles Square with the Rupert Hayes Model Agency. Following the Manchester Bombing, Rupert closed the agency and moved the salon to it's current location and we became Rupert Hayes Hairdressing. We have been here almost 15 years and with Rupert's skill and eye for detail, have built an enviable reputation as a slightly quirky independent salon still very much upholding our original high technical standards coupled with high fashion
