About the Business

In 1959, Homer Little walked out the coal mine he'd be working in for over a decade. The Island Creek Coal Company closed down the West Virginian coal-mine and Homer was out of work.

His family packed up their life and headed South to Orlando.

60 years later, his grandson Jeremy Pittman, along with Chris Rock (no, not the actor), Sean Burke and Ed Clark, all locals, opened RockPit Brewing in his honor.

That's why our brewery is the only coal-country brewery you'll find in Orlando. Or Florida, for that matter.

Hello Yelper. That's the word, right? Not sure. Either way, Yelp is telling me this is where I tell you how great and unique we are. But rather than do that, I'll tell you a little about our customers. Maybe you'll recognize yourself here. A good number of our customers are dog parents. We know this because they bring them along with them to RockPit. The dogs like us because we treat them as well as we treat their parents. Even more are human parents. Sometimes the kiddos come along and sometimes RockPit is their escape from the kids for the evening. Retirees hang with recent college grads. Lawyers sit next to accountants. Doctors sit next to police officers. Software engineers sit next to social media managers. So what makes us unique? You. We specialize in making YOU happy with an unmatched atmosphere, beer that rated among the best in Orlando and service that is not typically found in breweries.
