Entering its 8th year in Vancouver's iconic Yaletown district, Robba da Matti offers an authentic Italian dining experience not found elsewhere in the city.

When owner Matti Rikkinen left his native Thunder Bay to travel Europe in the 90s, he didn't anticipate falling in love with a brand new culture. Meeting his wife in Italy, he spent much of his life in Europe.

Most notably, he fell in love with the experience of finding an eatery that locals didn't know about - a place where locals gathered to indulge in their culture's rich cuisine while enjoying lively conversation with friends.

Upon returning to Vancouver, he realized the city lacked the signature hole-in-the-wall dining experience that permeated throughout the nooks and crannies of Italy's cities.

In Robba da Matti, he's created an off-the-beaten-path dining experience that recreates an afternoon in Sicily or an evening under the Tuscan sun.
