About the Business
Rife's Autobody first opened it's doors in the heart of old Grandview as "Grandview-Fifth Auto Service", operating near the corner of Grandview & W. 5th Avenue. Auto sales, motorcycle and automotive repairs were among the first services we offered. Auto body repair was soon added to the mix and eventually came to be the business' main stay. Don Rife Sr. took over the business from his father in the 1980's and by the early 90's had opened up our second location in Westerville, Ohio. Don Rife Jr. was hired on in 1989 and his sister Melissa came on board in the mid 90's. Our Grandview facility was relocated to a much larger facility in 1997 on Cardigan Avenue, near the intersection of W. 5th and Dublin Road. Don Rife Sr. began his journey towards retirement in 2002, and by 2010 had turned over operations to Don Jr. and Melissa who now own and operate both Rife's Autobody locations. Don Jr.'s daughter Tyler Rife began working full time in the business in 2016, and brother Mitchell in 2018.
