About the Business

Ray Ellis started his own auto body repair business in 1964. His son, Gary, began helping out when he was only 8 years old, and grew up learning how to do quality collision repairs every day. In fact, when Gary tells people he has 40 years of auto body experience, people are surprised, but it's the truth!

We've come a long way since 1964. Gary is now Ray's partner, and Ray's daughter, Jackie, has also joined the shop. Ten years ago, we expanded and added a building three times the size of the one we had been working in. We also moved the front of the shop to the main road for better access and visibility. While Ray's Auto Body has grown, what stays the same is the quality of our work, dedication to our craft, and the exceptional service we provide to our customers.

Ray's Auto Body was founded by Ray Ellis, who was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in a little house on the corner of 700 S and 1900 W. He began providing collision repair services to the local community out of a garage his dad built. That tiny garage is now the detail bay of the expanded shop that now sits on that corner. Ray's passion for cars has been passed on to his son, Gary, who is co-owner of the shop. Gary holds I-Car and PPG paint certifications. Gary's son, Dixon, is following in his father and grandfather's footsteps by learning the ins and outs of running the shop. Ray's daughter, Jackie, is the office manager and keeps things organized. Several of Ray's grandchildren have worked at the shop as detailers, preppers, etc. This has given them valuable experience and helped them learn to work hard. This is a family business and we treat customers like family. When you bring your vehicle to Ray's Auto Body, you can rest assured that your vehicle is in trusted hands.
