Specialties

Plymouth Arts Centre is a nationally-renowned centre for contemporary visual art, independent cinema, creative learning and delicious food. Our award-winning restaurant is run by Sammy Lounds, a Jamie Oliver protégé from Fifteen Cornwall. Sammy and his team create utterly delicious, affordable food with fresh, seasonal and sustainable ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Plymouth Arts Centre restaurant is the Barbican's hidden gem - enjoy Art, Film and Food in a contemporary setting with character. We serve food and drink through the day, to eat in the restaurant, take away, or even take into the cinema. As one customer commented, "How civilized is it that I can get a cocktail and watch a film!" This is no longer a vegetarian restaurant, although we always have veggie options on the menu. In 2012 the restaurant was awarded 'Best Restaurant' award by the Plymouth Food Awards and in 2013, Sammy won the Best Progression Award from Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall.
