About the Business

Pivni was the first bar opened by York based Pivovar Ltd, who went on to open the incredibly successful Sheffield Tap; The Euston Tap at the heart of our nation's capital and, most recently, the beautiful York Tap which is housed within the old Victorian tea rooms at York railway station.

The company is also UK partner and importer of Bernard beers, a craft brewery 50 miles outside Prague, meaning that in addition to tempting beers from around the world, Pivni and its sister bars have an exclusive, ever-flowing supply of the freshest, unpasteurised pilsners the Czech Republic has to offer.

Established in 2007.

Business Owner

Dan R. (Manager)

At 29 Dan, originally from Sheffield, is a young manager who joined the company in 2010 as a barman at The Sheffield Tap. Whilst Dan may lack the years of experience of some of his peers in the trade, he certainly makes up for this in enthusiasm, and knowledge and passion for craft beer. This helped Dan rise quickly through the ranks to position he holds today. A keen home-brewer, and assistant brewer at Sheffield's Steel City Brewery, Dan looks forward to bringing more and more exciting beers to the good folk of York.
