Avi Oz was the manager of another moving company in the late 80's and early 90's when he grew tired of the unscrupulous business practices in the industry and decided to start another company.

When Avi launched his company in New York City in 1993, Oz Moving did the unthinkable and put the entire industry on its toes; he put the phone number of the New York State Department of Transportation, the regulating body of the moving industry, everywhere, from the sides of his trucks to every Oz Moving ad. Customers could call the D.O.T. to figure out about the reputation of any moving company.
Oz wanted customers to make informed decisions, and his efforts helped stomp out fly-by-night scammers from the business, establishing Oz Moving as an industry leader in reliability, transparency, and customer service.
