About the Business

Every culture has its own idea of comfort food. Oiistar takes the comfort food concept to the next level by combining traditional Japanese ramen noodles with French and Italian influences to serve up the ultimate dish. The daily-made pork stock is cooked for over 18 hours before it's combined with the freshest ingredients and house-made noodles to create four signature ramen dishes. Those looking for a tasty start to their meal will be pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of appetizers and signature steamed buns. It's safe to say that if Oiistar were Chef Sunny's symphony, the Crème Brulee with Espresso Caviar would be his sweet finale.

With its simple and modern interior, Oiistar is more than just your average noodle house. It prides itself on great service in a vibrant environment. Chef Sunny's passion for food, cooking, and family is apparent from the time you walk through the front door.

Established in 2012.

Business Owner

Sunny Y. (Business Owner)

Sunny was born and raised in Korea. Once Sunny discovered his love for food and cooking, he took off for the adventure of a lifetime. Sunny graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago and worked his way up to executive chef of a popular downtown hotel. His repertoire includes working with many Italian and French chefs. Sunny frequently traveled to Japan to master the craft of noodle making. His unyielding enthusiasm for creating food has led him to open Oiistar, his first venture restaurant. When Sunny isn't jet setting off on his yearly excursions to discover the next best meal, you can find him golfing, skiing, or playing doting dad to his young twin girls.
